While I was a student at the University of Vermont, the Computer Science department sported a website that was desperately in need of an overhaul. In an era of automation, databases, and stylesheets, the department's site lagged more than a decade behind the mainstream technologies found across the web.
As the president of the Computer Science Student Association, I proposed replacing the site from the ground up. I offered a fully functional replacement site, with all my own programming, and a diverse slate of visual designs by Emily Rehmeyer.
The department chair at the time was so vehemently opposed to using the established and prevailing web technologies, however, that the department rejected the site on the basis that it used CSS.
Rather than let this great piece of web engineering become completely forgotten, I've documented its most impressive features here. Visit the pages in the menu on the left for details.
